Day 1

Welcome to our adventure in Nicaragua!! After much packing and planning and counting down the days...we are finally at Rancho Santana. We made it to paradise last night after two easy flights from Washington D.C.. Immigration and customs were a breeze, thanks to a very helpful gentleman who was quick to gather all six of our bags and do all the grunt work for us. Did I mention the 250lbs worth of luggage?? Gracias seƱor! A quick trip to a local grocery store to stock up on food and then our driver, Johnny, drove us the remaining two hours to the ranch. A majority of the drive was on paved roads and the remaining bumpy dirt roads lulled my daughter right to sleep. :) This is what we woke up to this morning....thanks to a very gracious friend who is letting us spend the next five weeks in her condo. My seven year old daughter, who wants to be called Moonbeam, will also be sharing her thoughts and adventures while we live here at the ranch. www.ranchosantana.com.
